Dionne has bred Newfoundland, King Charles Cavaliers and Dachshund dogs. She has trained and shown them to their American Kennel Club conformation championships, Canine Good Citizen and obedience awards. Over the past 15 years, Dionne has run a home kennel, worked with two local pet grooming salons, as well as being a professional dog show handler.
Excelling in these activities has required her to study animal behavior, training methods, best practices in kennel management, vaccine protocols, and canine health initiatives. She is an active member of the American Kennel Club, the Asheville Kennel Club, the Newfoundland Club of America, past Vice President of the South Eastern Newfoundland Club, board member of the South Eastern Newfoundland Rescue, Inc., (501c3) and is involved in working dog events in the Southeast. Dionne is also involved in Junior Handling for children in the American Kennel Club.
Jason comes to Pack Pet Resort with 30+ years of personal experience in caring for pets, strays, and contributing person time and resources to shelters and charities.
As true animal lover on every level, Jason decided to change his career and fulfill a personal calling to pursue a meaningful, challenging and rewarding career caring for animals.
Melissa (Missy) is from Pryor, Oklahoma and has been grooming since 2006. She began her love of pet grooming at Clips & Bows grooming in Claremont, Oklahoma where she trained for five years under a Master Groomer.
Missy has most recently been with Petsmart in Charlotte since 2011 where she has continued to hone her craft. She is the Spa Manager at Pack Pet Resort and is responsible for all grooming and Spa operations.
McKenna has lived in Indian trail most of her life and is pursuing a career in medical sonography at South Piedmont Community College. Her only pet has been a cat, and whatever dogs Dionne lets her borrow. McKenna is a PRN CNA at a plastic surgery office as well as working with Pack and has a heart for helping dogs and people. She has been with Pack since the opening in 2016.
Makaylah is from Monroe, North Carolina. She has three horses and two dogs of her own and her family has five horses and four dogs. Makaylah loves her animals and she spends most of her time with them. She is currently attending Wingate University to one day graduate with a degree in Physical Therapy. Makaylah also has spent years rescuing and showing horses in the Appaloosa horse circuit and is now competing in Barrel Racing.
